Prioritizing Seeking His Kingdom and His Justice (Righteousness)
Our Motto: God wants us to find him, and we must find him in His Justice
Our Motto: God wants us to find him, and we must find him in His Justice
As a Christian-based entity our priorities are formed from the Biblical passage Matthew 6:33, But seek ye first His kingdom and his righteousness,…NIV
The Kingdom represents everything under the rule of God and all its blessings of salvation in Christ, faith, hope, love and acts of benevolence according to the commission and practices of Christ and his word in scripture.
The Co-joining Mission of Church of Justice is to strengthen our community by providing opportunities for dialogue, education, leadership, and actions that promote distributive, procedural, restorative, and retributive justice, that creates equity, Love, joy, and healing from racism and oppression anywhere.
“Community” as defined by Church of Justice, is the same as the African use of the term Neighbor. Neighbor in the African sense simply means- “ whoever is close to you” – that is your neighbor.
There are 4 types of Justice: [See COJ Mission Statement ]
1. Distributive (determining who gets what),
2. Procedural (determining how fairly people are treated),
3. Retributive (based on punishment for wrongdoing)
4. Restorative (which tries to restore relationships to "rightness.")
